The UK Department of Health would seem to be underplaying its response to the current global Whooping Cough epidemic.
The UK Health Protection Agency (HPA) has said that it is “very concerned” about an increase in the number of Whooping Cough (Pertussis) cases in UK this year.
The agency has recognized 2,466 laboratory-confirmed cases of Pertussis in the first six months of 2012. There were only 1,118 cases in the whole of 2011.
